Here are the toots from my Mastodon account. If you’re into ham radio and technology this is a great inclusive server with an awesome mascot called Alex.

It's Alex! A soft brown mastodon holding a handheld radio in their right hand and carrying a blue bag over their shoulder

Feel pretty pleased with myself, I just built my first home-designed PCB and it worked

It’s the small bidirectional amplifier described here: http://w7zoi.net/bidirectional_matched_amplifier.pdf and built by w2aew here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TtKE39TWpI

I made a couple of footprint mistakes but didn’t need any bodge wires! I spent ages messing with KiCad but learned a lot, and have a few ideas for changes. I don’t really have a project in mind, but wanted to build something simple I could use to learn.

A small dark blue printed circuit board resting on an LCD display. The board has SMA connectors on the top left and right and three wires on the left. On the board are two almost identical circuits made of 0603 surface mount components and SOT 23 transistors.

📢 WSJT-X 2.5.0 was announced here: https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/mailman/message/37357178/

🗒️ Release notes are here: https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/Release_Notes.txt

📁 And downloads are via: https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html

The release notes say:

“WSJT-X in this release is nearly identical to that in WSJT-X 2.4.0.

The Q65 decoder has been enhanced to measure and compensate for linear

frequency drift in Q65 signals.”

So not hugely exciting 🤷, but I expect hamlib has also been updated.

“Available from a well known internet site”. “Get this from a popular Chinese website”. “Available from an online auction site”. 😃

I always laugh when I see this sort of thing in magazines. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing wrong with naming companies and providing URLs.

It’s time for a new WSJT-X release candidate.

📢 WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc6 was announced here: https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/mailman/message/37346748/

🗒️ Release notes are here: https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/Release_Notes.txt

📁 And downloads are via: https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html

The release notes seem to mainly cover bug fixes, so maybe there will be a GA release soon.

Somehow managed to erase mysql and mod-php during upgrading to Bullseye.

Easily fixed but d’oh! One of these days I’ll get around to getting puppet or something set up.
